user registration

persons who borrow recorded books for the first time need to register as a user, as outlined below.

residents in the city of Sendai and the Sendai urban area of 13 cities, towns and village, and those commuting to work and school from the suburbs, who are visually impaired and have a certificate of the physically disabled, and their guardians

Shiogama City, Natori City, Tagajo City, Iwanuma City, Watari-cho, Yamamoto-cho, Matsushima-machi, Shichigahama-machi, Rifu-cho, Taiwa-cho, Ohsato-cho, Tomiya-machi, Ohhira-mura

how to register

persons who have a user card for the sendai shimin library
  • persons who have registered as a mail user can use the services with the card.
  • persons who have not registered as a mail user are requested to bring their certificate of the physically disabled (copy acceptable). after completing the registration as a mail user, you will be eligible for the services.

persons who do not have a user card for the sendai shimin library are requested to register as a mail user of that library. application may be made directly at this library, or by mail or fax.

please enter necessary details in the user registration form at the 2nd-floor inquiries for the sight- and hearing- impaired and submit it with your certificate of the physically disabled. your user card will be issued to you along with a catalog of recorded books. you can ask someone to make the application on your behalf (please have him or her bring your certificate of the physically disabled).
application by mail and fax
the application form for user registration and a self-addressed envelope will be sent to those who wish to make application by mail or fax. complete the user registration form and return it in the self-addressed envelope, together with a copy of your certificate of the physically disabled. a user card will be issued and sent to you together with a catalog of recorded books.
